Music Worship Group
The music worship group leads the worship at the family services at St. Peters in Holywell, first Sunday in the month, and Holy Trinity in Greenfield, third Sunday of the month. Additionally we have been invited to play at other events and services on an ad-hoc basis. The group is a combination of piano, guitar, bass, drums and strengthened by a number of vocalists.
The family services are a shorter, more informal service and are led by the clergy and members of the congregation or the music worship group itself. Music is at the heart of this service and we have a wide and rich source of styles from traditional hymns and modern praise songs to Taize chants to pieces written by group members. Members of the group are passionate about playing and leading people into a deeper worship experience through music. Several of our group are gifted instrumentalists as well as singers, and enjoy adding colour and flexibility for the different hymns and services.
We usually rehearse on the Saturday afternoon before the family service and then again on Sunday morning at 9.00a.m., before the family service.
We are always happy for new members to join in – there is no audition, only a heart for singing, or playing, and a strong sense of fellowship with both the other group members and our church in general.
